Bob Savory registered Hosta 'Bells of Edinborough' in 1993 as a hybrid of H. 'Rim Rock'. Medium green leaves with a satiny sheen on top and a rounded base give this small cultivar a refined, polished character in the shade garden. Clumps grow to 35.6 cm (14") tall on sturdy scapes reaching 53.3 cm (21") high that carry violet, striped tubular flowers in summer. Its compact, tidy habit makes it an excellent choice for the front of a shade border or a specialized container. Canadian gardeners from Zone 3 through 9 will find it a distinguished and collectible addition.
