A Compact Gem of Shiny Cupped Gold
Mark Zilis registered Hosta 'Regal Tot' in 2010 as a cross between H. 'Gold Regal' and H. 'Shining Tot'. It forms a tidy miniature mound just 14 cm (5.5") high and 43 cm (17") wide. The rounded, lightly cupped leaves emerge chartreuse in early spring and deepen to a vibrant shiny gold as the season progresses. It thrives reliably across Canadian gardens from Zone 3 through 9. Pale purple flowers rise on golden yellow scapes in mid-summer, adding a delicate contrast above the foliage.
