Sagae-Like Drama on a Massive Scale — Wide Margins, Blue-Green Heart, Unstoppable Growth
D. Dean registered Hosta 'Night at the Opera' in 2014, crossing H. 'Little Wonder' with H. 'Love Pat' to produce this extraordinary large-mound cultivar. The blue-green centre is framed by a sweeping pale yellow margin — 1.3 to 3.8 cm (½ to 1½") wide — that echoes the look of the celebrated H. 'Sagae' on a grander, more vigorous frame. Clumps reach 45.7 cm (18") tall and an impressive 137.2 cm (54") wide, and they get there fast. It thrives across Canada from Zone 3 through 9 in dappled to partial shade.
