Description
Introducing 'Island Breeze' (12"x18") PP27,151, the newest addition to the tropical family of hostas, including 'Fire Island' and 'Paradise Island.' With wider margins, thicker leaves, and strong growth, this sport of 'Paradise Island' boasts impressive variegation and showy red speckled petioles. In spring, its bright yellow centres contrast against dark green margins, while in summer, they shift to chartreuse or lighter yellow depending on sun exposure. Dark lavender flowers adorn reddish green scapes.
'Island Breeze' was chosen by the American Hosta Growers Association as the Hosta Of The Year (HOTY) in 2022.
