An Overwhelming Display of Blue-Green Grandeur
Doug and Mardy Beilstein registered Hosta 'Abundant Love' in 2017 as a seedling of 'Love Pat'. It inherits its parent's best qualities and amplifies them into a commanding giant. Each broadly ovate leaf is heavily corrugated, folded at the base, and twisted along its length. The foliage holds a luminous powdery blue-green from spring through midsummer across zones 3–9. Use it as a bold specimen anchor in shaded borders or woodland gardens.
-
Intense Powdery Blue Finish: A heavy waxy coating gives the foliage a luminous, frosty blue appearance through the first half of the season.
-
Architectural Folding: The leaves are folded at the base and twisted along the length, adding structural depth and a multidimensional look to the mound.
-
Heavily Seersuckered Texture: Dense puckering and deep veining provide a leathery substance that offers elite resistance to slugs and snails.
-
Bouquet-Like Blooms: In July, near-white flowers rise on short, sturdy scapes just above the foliage, creating the appearance of a floral bouquet nestled in blue.
-
Next-Level Vigour: Inherits the classic 'Love Pat' reliability but matures into a significantly larger and more dramatic specimen.

Grower's Tip: Site this cultivar away from midday sun — excess heat melts the powdery wax, dulling the blue to plain green. At our Bécancour, QC trial fields, we confirm the distinctive leaf twist and spring-blue colour before every plant ships True to Type.
