A Luminous Masterpiece of Golden Proportions
Hosta 'Adrian's Glory' is a large sport of 'Gold Standard' that has been under evaluation for over 15 years. It features heart-shaped leaves with a narrow gold centre framed by wide blue-green margins. The centre emerges pale green in spring and brightens to vivid yellow through summer. It grows reliably across Canadian hardiness zones 3–9 and tolerates zone 2 conditions. Use it as a luminous focal point in woodland borders or large containers.
-
Vibrant Variegated Contrast: Wide blue-green margins create a dramatic frame for the glowing yellow-gold centre, with contrast that intensifies through the season.
-
Heavy Slug Resistance: Thick, leathery leaf substance makes it a tough opponent for common garden pests.
-
Dynamic Colour Transition: The foliage emerges with a pale green centre that matures into vivid yellow, maintaining its brilliance all summer.
-
Lavender Summer Spikes: In mid-July, dainty spikes of lavender bell-shaped flowers rise above the dense mound and attract local pollinators.

Grower's Tip: Give this cultivar bright filtered light or a touch of morning sun to maximise the gold centre without scorching the blue-green margins. At our Bécancour, QC trial fields, we verify the distinctive wide-margin variegation before every plant ships True to Type.
