Dick and Jane Ward registered Hosta 'Amazing Grace' in 1999 from a cross of H. 'Pin Stripe' and H. montana f. macrophylla. The massive broad leaves carry a deep green centre and a strikingly wide creamy-white border with a slightly rippled texture and prominent veining. Montana heritage gives the foliage a graceful downward-pointing arch and a shovel-like scale that fills space with authority. It grows vigorously across Canadian hardiness zones 3–9. Plant it where it has room to arch and anchor a woodland garden with a lush, professional presence.
