Description

Luminous Ripples

A refined creation from the legendary hybridizer Kevin Vaughn, Hosta 'Angel Feathers' is a sophisticated sport of 'Sea Angel' that brings a glowing edge to the Canadian shade garden. This mid-sized variety is prized for its elegant, ovate leaves of rich medium green, which are strikingly defined by wide, slightly rippled margins. These edges emerge in a vibrant golden yellow in the spring before softening to a luminous creamy white as the season matures. With its classic cordate base and lightly wavy texture, it forms a dense, symmetrical mound that acts as a perfect transition plant, bridging the gap between solid-coloured specimens and more aggressive variegated types.

Why It Stands Out

Vivid Margin Contrast: The half-inch wide borders transition beautifully from gold to cream, providing season-long interest.
Refined "Sea Angel" Heritage: Inherits the graceful, lightly corrugated texture and reliable vigour of its famous parentage.
Luminous Undergrowth: A lightly glaucous bloom on the underside of the leaves adds a silvery shimmer when caught by a breeze.
Perfectly Proportioned: The 17.8 cm (7-inch) long leaves create a neat, organized mound that maintains its shape from BC to Newfoundland.

Grower's Tip
