The elongated, elliptical leaves undergo a striking two-part seasonal shift: the centre deepens from light green to rich dark green, while the margins transition from a bright yellow in spring to a clean creamy white by midsummer. At 38 cm (15") tall and 76 cm (30") wide, it forms a dense, flowing mound that suits shaded borders and woodland path edges equally well. Lavender flowers rise on tall scapes in July and August, attracting local pollinators. Hardy from Zone 3 through 9, it is a reliable and elegant performer across Canada.
