Description

Dramatic Shadows Meeting a Radiance of Golden Buttercream

A tour de force from the esteemed breeding program of William and Eleanor Lachman, Hosta 'Celebrity' is a rare collector's gem that commands attention in any Canadian landscape. Registered in the late nineties, this classic was born from a sophisticated cross between one of Lachman's elite breeders (bbf6) and the iconic Hosta 'Frances Williams'. It forms a massive, architectural mound that serves as a spectacular anchor for shade gardens from the rain-drenched valleys of British Columbia to the rugged coasts of Newfoundland.

Dynamic Variegation: Nearly round, deep winter-green leaves are framed by a wide, buttercream edge that darts artistically toward the midrib.
Exceptional Substance: The thick, heavy foliage is notably rugose and corrugated, providing a rugged texture that stands up to the elements.
Subtle Crinkling: Mature specimens develop a sophisticated crinkling across the leaf surface, enhancing its glow in dappled light.
Regal Presence: With its immense spread and heart-shaped silhouette, it creates a high-impact focal point that defines a woodland border.

Feature	Specification
Size (H × W)	66 cm × 142 cm (26" × 56")
Hardiness Zone	3–9
Colour	Dark green with wide gold to buttercream margins
Light Requirements	Partial shade to deep shade

Grower’s Tip: Give Hosta 'Celebrity' plenty of room to stretch its 142 cm (56") wingspan — it is a standout choice for mass plantings or as a singular hallmark specimen. At Hosta Choice Gardens, we never ship dormant roots. We observe the spring emergence in our Bécancour fields to verify the unique overlapping variegation and leaf crinkle, ensuring your plant is True to Type before it begins its journey to you.
