Olga Petryszyn registered Hosta 'Coast to Coast' in 2014. It won the 2020 Hosta of the Year award. This giant grows from a cross of Hosta 'Manhattan' and Hosta 'Golden Gate'. It forms a bold, vase-shaped gold mound in dappled shade. Plant it as a focal point in any large Canadian garden.

  • Radiant Seasonal Shift: Large, heart-shaped leaves emerge a vibrant chartreuse-gold in spring, maturing into a luminous, intense gold as the Canadian summer progresses.
  • Substantial Texture: Heavy, thick-substanced foliage is deeply puckered and corrugated with wavy edges, offering a rugged resilience that naturally discourages slugs.
  • Stunning Undersides: Each leaf features a nearly white, glaucous underside that adds a sophisticated layer of visual character when viewed from below its upright canopy.
  • Midsummer Majesty: In July and August, proportionate 91 cm (36") scapes carry dainty spikes of pale violet to lavender tubular flowers just above the golden foliage.
