Description

A Cascading Emerald Pinnacle of Architectural Grandeur

Hosta 'Dragon Lady' is a Mildred Seaver introduction prized for its massive, non-variegated presence. Our stock traces directly back to the originator's own plant. The long, pointed leaves emerge blue-green in spring and deepen to rich emerald by summer. Deeply impressed veins give the foliage a bold, dragon-scale texture. It suits Canadian zones 3–9 and commands attention as a specimen in large shaded gardens.

Extraordinary Scale: Reaches 90 cm (35") tall and 180 cm (71") wide — a crown jewel for large woodland gardens and open shade borders.
Intricate Venation: Features 16–18 pairs of deeply etched veins that give the leaves a distinct, corrugated texture and heavy substance.
Stately Floral Display: Produces near-white blooms in June that contrast beautifully against the dark, satiny foliage.
Rugged Durability: Heavy leaf substance keeps this giant upright and dignified throughout the full growing season.

Feature	Specification
Size (H × W)	90 cm × 180 cm (35" × 71")
Hardiness Zone	3–9
Colour	Blue-green transitioning to deep green
Light Requirements	Partial to full shade

Grower's Tip: Give this cultivar plenty of room — it needs space to express its full dragon-scale texture and spread. We monitor every division at our Bécancour trial fields to confirm True to Type leaf elongation and puckering before it ships to your garden.
