Hosta 'Golden Wampum' | Rare, Exceptional mini hosta with dynamic foliage!

Description

Unique characteristics of the Hosta

Hosta "Golden Wampum" is an extraordinary mini hosta known for its dynamic foliage changes throughout the growing season. It begins with spring bringing tightly wavy, twisted chartreuse leaves that have a shiny and rippled texture. This impressive start is followed by a second flush where larger, flat yellow leaves appear. These new leaves feature a slightly folded look, creating a visually interesting progression that lasts through the season.

Ideal for container gardening

This rare originator stock hosta is perfect for those looking to enhance their small garden spaces or container displays. Its robust nature makes it both visually appealing and dependable, offering gardeners an easy-care option. The versatility and stunning seasonal display of "Golden Wampum" ensure it stands out as a focal point in any setting, particularly in confined gardening spaces like patios or decks.

Important planting information

It's crucial to note that 'Golden Wampum' propagates via "runner" rhizomes, enabling it to form tight mounds quickly. When purchasing this hosta, be prepared to receive multiple plant pieces. For successful planting, group these pieces closely together to ensure they develop into the full mound formation as intended. This process not only supports healthy growth but also maintains the plant's unique structure and aesthetic appeal.
