Description

Wavy, Folded, and Full of Movement in the Shade Border

Kent Terpening developed Hosta 'Tremors' as an unregistered cultivar from H. 'Star Light Star Bright'. The elongated green leaves have pronounced wavy, piecrusted margins that create dynamic movement and architectural texture in the shade garden. Leaves sometimes fold along the midrib, adding a dimensional twist that makes each plant slightly individual. It grows reliably across Canadian hardiness zones 3–9. Use it as a collector's accent or a textural contrast among broader-leaved companions in a shaded border.

Pronounced Wavy Piecrusted Margins: Heavily ruffled, piecrusted leaf edges create bold visual texture and a sense of kinetic movement that distinguishes 'Tremors' from standard green hostas.
Elongated Folding Leaves: Pointed, elongated leaves that sometimes fold along the midrib add a dimensional, sculptural quality that rewards close observation in the collector's garden.
Rich Green Foliage: Clean, deep green colouring provides a fresh, lush backdrop that holds well through the Canadian summer without fading.
Dark Purple Blooms: Striking dark purple flowers appear in summer on tall scapes above the foliage, providing a bold colour contrast to the green mound below.
Star Light Star Bright Heritage: Bred from H. 'Star Light Star Bright' by Kent Terpening, 'Tremors' carries the refined collector pedigree of a carefully selected unregistered hybrid.

Feature	Specification
Size (H)	35–40 cm (14–16") estimated at maturity
Hardiness Zone	3–9
Colour	Green with dark purple flowers
Light Requirements	Partial to full shade

Grower's Tip: 'Tremors' handles Canadian winters with ease from Zone 3 through 9, and the wavy piecrusted margins become more pronounced as the plant matures — so give it time and it will reward you. We grow it at our nursery in Bécancour, QC where we verify the characteristic elongated wavy foliage before every plant ships. Our True to Type standard means you receive the authentic Kent Terpening selection, confirmed before it leaves Bécancour.
