Description

A Bold Gold-Rimmed Classic for the Shady Border

Bob Kuk introduced 'Unforgettable' as a large, commanding hosta with real presence. He registered it as a cultivar with round, deeply corrugated green leaves edged in a wide, vibrant gold margin. The thick, cupped foliage gives it a sculptural quality that holds beautifully through the season. It thrives across Canadian hardiness zones 3 through 9 with ease. Plant it as a bold anchor in a shaded border or as a specimen where its Frances Williams-like form can shine.

Foliage: Round, deeply corrugated green leaves with a wide, vibrant gold to chartreuse margin — thick, cupped, and slug-resistant.
Size: Grows to approximately 76 cm (30") wide and 50 cm (20") tall at maturity.
Flowers: Tall lavender flower scapes rise to about 90 cm (36") in late spring, attracting pollinators.
Hardiness: Zones 3–9 — well-suited to the full range of Canadian climates.
Best Use: Specimen planting, shaded border anchor, or mixed hosta collection centrepiece.

Feature	Specification
Size (H × W)	50 cm × 76 cm (20" × 30")
Hardiness Zone	3–9
Colour	Green centre, gold to chartreuse margin
Light Requirements	Partial to full shade

Grower's Tip: 'Unforgettable' handles Canadian winters with ease from Zone 3 through 9, emerging reliably each spring with its bold gold margins intact. We grow it at our nursery in Bécancour, QC, where its thick, corrugated leaves prove their durability season after season. Our True to Type standard means you receive the authentic 'Unforgettable', verified before it leaves Bécancour — a cultivar that earns its name every time it unfurls.
