Description

A Majestic Vision of Chartreuse Elegance

Stuart Asch registered Hosta 'Aliyah's Grace' in 2004 as a standout seedling of H. pycnophylla. The thick, deeply cupped leaves emerge in bright chartreuse and warm gradually into a soft sun-kissed yellow as the season progresses. Each leaf has a distinctive pointed tip and heavy puckering that gives the plant a sculptural, formal silhouette. It grows reliably across Canadian hardiness zones 3–9 and tolerates morning sun better than most yellow varieties. Plant it where its glowing colour and cupped form can anchor a shaded border or collector's planting.

Leaf Shape and Texture: Thick, leathery, and deeply cupped with pronounced puckering and a distinctive pointed tip — heavy substance foliage that resists slug damage and delivers a formal, sculptural silhouette unlike most rounded hostas.
Leaf Colour: Emerges in bright chartreuse in spring and warms gradually to a sun-kissed yellow through the season — a natural light source in darker garden corners that intensifies beautifully with gentle morning sun.
Mature Size: 40 cm high × 76 cm wide (16 in × 30 in) — a medium mound with a formal, upright-cupped habit suited to border specimens and collector's plantings.
Flowers: Elegant pale purple blooms rise on distinctive red scapes in midsummer, adding a striking colour contrast above the glowing yellow-green cupped mound below.

Feature	Specification
Size (H × W)	40 cm × 76 cm (16" × 30")
Hardiness Zone	3–9
Colour	Chartreuse to yellow; pale purple flowers on red scapes
Light Requirements	Partial shade; morning sun enhances yellow tones

Grower's Tip: 'Aliyah's Grace' handles Canadian winters with ease from Zone 3 through 9, and a few hours of eastern morning sun deepens its yellow tones beautifully without scorching the foliage. We grow it at our nursery in Bécancour, QC and wait until the cupping and distinctive pointed tips are fully evident before every plant ships. Our True to Type standard means you receive the authentic Hosta 'Aliyah's Grace', verified before it leaves Bécancour, QC.
