Description

Giant Drama for the Shade Border — Wide Cream Margins and Architectural Form

Olga Petryszyn registered Hosta 'All That Jazz' in 2006, crossing 'Christmas Tree Gala' with 'Elatior'. The result is a giant cultivar with a commanding upright vase-shaped habit. Huge heart-shaped green leaves carry exceptionally wide creamy-yellow margins that soften to cream by midsummer. It is reliably hardy across Canadian hardiness zones 3–9, thriving from the Pacific coast to the Atlantic. Plant it as a bold specimen or use it to fill large gaps in woodland and shade borders with sweeping architectural presence.

Leaf Shape and Texture: Broadly ovate and heart-shaped at the base with thick, slightly corrugated, shiny substance and prominent veining — heavy-quality foliage that resists slugs and holds its appearance throughout the full Canadian growing season.
Leaf Colour: Rich green centre framed by exceptionally wide creamy-yellow margins that mature to a soft, elegant cream by midsummer — bold two-tone variegation with a refined seasonal transition.
Mature Size: 75–90 cm high × 150+ cm wide (30–35 in × 59+ in) — a true giant that anchors large shaded borders or naturalized woodland areas with commanding specimen presence.
Flowers: Tall scapes rise in midsummer carrying lavender blooms above the bold cream-margined foliage, adding graceful vertical interest at the peak of the season.

Feature	Specification
Size (H × W)	75–90 cm × 150+ cm (30–35" × 59"+)
Hardiness Zone	3–9
Colour	Rich green centre, wide creamy-yellow to cream margins
Light Requirements	Partial to full shade

Grower's Tip: Plant 'All That Jazz' in deep, organic-rich soil with consistent moisture to support its massive leaf production — this giant rewards good soil preparation with spectacular results. It handles Canadian winters with ease from Zone 3 through 9, making it a dependable performer across the country. At our nursery in Bécancour, QC, we monitor every pip as it emerges to confirm the wide cream margins and heavy substance are fully expressed before shipping. Our True to Type standard means you receive the authentic Hosta 'All That Jazz', verified before it leaves Bécancour, QC.
