Jim Herold registered Hosta 'Chopsticks' in 2009 as a standout cultivar for shade gardens. He selected it from open-pollinated seedlings to highlight its most striking feature: vivid red petioles. The lance-shaped, medium green leaves carry a smooth, satiny sheen that shimmers in dappled light. Hardy from zones 3 to 9, it thrives in Canadian shade gardens from coast to coast. Its upright, vase-shaped habit makes it ideal for borders, containers, and contemporary garden designs.

Grower's Tip: Plant Hosta 'Chopsticks' in a slightly elevated position or a decorative container so those crimson stems are at eye level. We monitor petiole colour and upright form at our Bécancour trial fields each spring to ensure every plant is True to Type before it ships.
