Description

A Shimmering Chartreuse Rhapsody of Satin and Gold

A 2021 registration from Kent Terpening, Hosta 'Copa Cabana' descends from the beautifully structured Hosta 'Confetti Cup' and brings a fast-growing, brilliantly bright presence to the Canadian landscape. Its round, satiny leaves provide a striking chartreuse spotlight in the shaded garden — whether illuminating a prairie shade pocket or soaking up dappled sun in an Ontario woodland — holding their own through the full breadth of our climate.

Radiant Chartreuse Glow: Broadly ovate, roundish leaves emerge in a strong yellow-green that acts as a natural spotlight in the garden, brightening even deep shade.
Sophisticated Lustre: Each leaf carries a unique satiny sheen on the surface, perfectly contrasted by a chalky, glaucous white underside that adds refined elegance.
Sun-Kissed Resilience: Unlike many golden varieties, this selection has excellent sun tolerance, making it a versatile choice for brighter spots in the garden.
Artistic Texture: As the mound matures, foliage develops a light cupping and corrugated surface, creating a rhythmic textured appearance that lasts all summer.

Feature	Specification
Size (H × W)	43 cm × 91 cm (17" × 36")
Hardiness Zone	3–9
Colour	Bright chartreuse to yellow-green, deepening by late season
Light Requirements	Partial shade to dappled sun

Grower's Tip: Hosta 'Copa Cabana' is a fast-paced performer that quickly establishes a dense, 91 cm (36") wide mound. While it opens the season with a brilliant yellow-green pop, expect a graceful transition toward deeper green as summer progresses. We never ship dormant eyes — we observe the spring flush at our Bécancour, QC trial fields to verify that the chartreuse hue and corrugated texture are True to Type before your plant is approved for delivery.
