Description

A Shimmering Hallmark of Polished Emerald and Steel

Hosta 'Devon Green' is a sport of the world-renowned Hosta 'Halcyon'. It was registered in 2005 by the Bowdens of Bowden Hostas in Devon, England. It trades its parent's blue wax for a deep, saturating forest green that looks perpetually lacquered. Its thick leaves carry exceptional substance and a high-gloss finish that reflects light beautifully. It is hardy across Canadian zones 3–9 and is a reliable performer in the shade garden.

Mirror-Like Gloss: The thick, ovate leaves are remarkably shiny on top, giving the plant a polished, healthy appearance even during the heat of midsummer.
Superior Substance: Heavy leaf structure inherited from Hosta 'Halcyon' makes this cultivar exceptionally slug-resistant and maintains its crisp, moderately cupped form all season.
Saturated Green Tones: Unlike many varieties that fade, the deep emerald colour only intensifies as the Canadian summer progresses.
Compact Architectural Habit: Its upright, tidy growth makes it a perfect candidate for specimen containers or as a clean, uniform border plant.

Feature	Specification
Size (H × W)	46 cm × 60 cm (18" × 23.5")
Hardiness Zone	3–9
Colour	Deep, very shiny dark green
Light Requirements	Partial to full shade

Grower's Tip: Most hostas lose their lustre by August. Hosta 'Devon Green' stays remarkably fresh all season. We observe our stock during the Bécancour spring flush to confirm heavy substance and high-gloss finish. Every plant must be True to Type before we ship it to your garden.
