Description

A Refreshing Burst of Zesty Gold and Emerald

Hosta 'Dinner Mint' is a sport of Hosta 'Lemontini', introduced by hybridizer Mark Zilis and registered in 2011. It is a small hosta with exceptional vigour. Leaves emerge bright chartreuse and ripen to a zesty golden-yellow with narrow dark green margins. Morning sun intensifies the golden hues and encourages a more robust growth habit. It is hardy across Canadian zones 3–9 and is ideal for the front of a border or a decorative trough.

Radiant Colour Transition: Leaves emerge bright chartreuse before ripening into golden-yellow, sharply defined by narrow, dark green margins.
Exceptional Vigour: A fast grower that quickly forms a dense, wavy mound — often outpacing other small varieties in the garden.
Sun-Loving Personality: Unlike many hostas, this cultivar thrives in morning sun, which intensifies its golden hues and encourages robust growth.
Late Summer Vibrancy: Medium purple flowers appear in August, standing in beautiful contrast to the bright, slightly shiny foliage.

Feature	Specification
Size (H × W)	18 cm × 38 cm (7" × 15") — can grow larger
Hardiness Zone	3–9
Colour	Golden-yellow centre with thin, dark green margins
Light Requirements	Morning sun to partial shade

Grower's Tip: Site Hosta 'Dinner Mint' where it can soak up morning sun with consistently moist roots. This brings out its full oversized potential. We monitor the green margin stability during the spring flush at our Bécancour trial fields. Every plant must be True to Type before we ship it to your garden.
