The Darkest Green in the Shade Garden
Hosta 'Paradise Restored' is our single darkest green hosta and a consistent best seller whenever stock is available. M. Zilis registered it in 2010 as a sport of H. 'Paradise on Fire', capturing all the vigour of that celebrated parent in a rich, saturated solid green. The ovate leaves are slightly shiny on top with a glaucous bloom underneath, moderately cupped and lightly corrugated — a refined, polished look that stands apart from every other green in the border. It performs reliably across Canadian hardiness zones 3 through 9. Stock is strictly limited and does not last — if it is available, do not wait.

Colour: The deepest, most saturated solid green we grow — a rich, almost lacquered dark green that holds its intensity all season long.

Leaf Surface: Slightly shiny on top with a glaucous bloom underneath, giving the leaf a two-toned depth that catches light beautifully.

Texture: Moderately cupped and lightly corrugated ovate leaves with 9–10 vein pairs — substantial and refined without being coarse.

Flowers: Medium lavender tubular blooms on green scapes 51–76 cm (20–30") tall in late July through early August.
