Description

A Crisp White Edge on Cool Blue-Green Foliage

L. G. Jones registered Hosta 'Warwick Edge' in 1993 in Michigan. He crossed 'William Lachman' with H. nakaiana to produce its compact, tidy habit. The leaves are medium blue-green with a pure white, smooth margin 1 cm (0.38") wide. It grows reliably across Canadian hardiness zones 3–9. Use it at the front of a shaded border, in a rock garden, or as a container specimen.

Pure White Margin: A botanically precise pure white edge — not creamy or yellow-white — frames each blue-green leaf with clean, high-contrast definition all season.
Cool Blue-Green Centre: The medium blue-green leaf surface has a matte, dull finish on both sides, giving this cultivar a refined, understated presence in the shade garden.
Compact and Tidy: Reaching 20 cm (8") high by 46 cm (18") wide, it is well-scaled for small spaces, troughs, containers, and the front of a border.
nakaiana Heritage: The H. nakaiana parentage contributes a naturally neat, compact habit and reliable hardiness suited to Canadian growing conditions.
Lavender Summer Blooms: Medium lavender tubular flowers rise on scapes up to 35.6 cm (14") high, adding a soft seasonal accent above the variegated mound.

Feature	Specification
Size (H × W)	20 cm × 46 cm (8" × 18")
Hardiness Zone	3–9
Colour	Medium blue-green with pure white margin
Light Requirements	Partial to full shade

Grower's Tip: The pure white margin stays sharpest in consistent partial shade — avoid intense afternoon sun, which can bleach or scorch the white edge. At our Bécancour, QC trial fields, we verify the crisp white margin and blue-green centre before every plant ships True to Type.
